Hello, for safety reasons, we recommend leaving the press open when the heating plate has not completely cooled down. When the heating plate has cooled down, the press can also be left in a closed position. In this case, however, for safety reasons, it would be important to protect the closed lever arm from opening by itself with a small belt or similar. This is only necessary if the press is not used for a longer period of time.
