How to become a star baker with HappyGlitter HTV
It’s that time of year again…The Great British Bake off is back on our screens next week and we’ve got just the project to get you in the mood! If you fancy cooking up a crafting storm, keep reading to find out how we upgraded a plain apron with heat transfer vinyl (HTV). You’ll be looking like a star baker in no time!
For this project you will need:
- Plain apron
- HappyGlitter vinyl in three colours. We used gold, black-gold and red
- HappyRelease or greaseproof paper
Step 1 First, create your design by either tracing onto your vinyl or by using a cutting machine program. For this project we used Silhouette Studio.
Step2 Place your vinyl shiny side down onto your cutting mat and send your design to cut. Once cut you can repeat this process for all aspects of your design. We cut the rest of the text followed by the stars and other shapes.
Step 3 Use your HappyWeeder to get to any awkward and fiddly parts of your design.
Step 4 Once you are happy with everything you have cut, now you can start adding them to your apron! Place the vinyl onto the apron shiny side up. Cover with HappyRelease or grease proof paper.
Step 5 Press for 10 seconds at 150 degrees. If you are using an iron, make sure each section gets heat for this amount of time.
Step 6 Peel away the clear carrier to reveal your sparkly design!
Step 7 Start baking!
This is a super fun project, suitable for beginner level crafters. Be sure to tag us in your creations so we can see, and we may also share your projects across our social channels.
